I haven’t use the new grip in an actual round yet as there is still snow on the ground in Maine. However, the feel of the new grip is much better than the standard grip that came on the putter I bought three years ago.
It has raised surface features that give better stability and stickiness. I also assume this feel will last longer than the standard grip did before it started to become slippery.

A better grip than the "OEM" round grip

I replaced the original round grip that the putter was shipped with. The old grip had a non-textured surface that would get slick in rainy conditions... and that only got worse as the grip aged. This new grip does give me a little more confidence due to its textured surface. I'm not sensitive enough to evaluate the value of the the dual layer functionality.. although it does feel good!
